WHO WE ARE

Born June 27th ,1968, Pastor Nicky has always lived here in Caldwell County. He graduated from West Caldwell High School in 1986, at the age of 17 as a senior in High School he trusted Jesus as Lord and Savior of his life. His desire for the Lord and the work of the Lord grew to become his lifestyle. In 1988 at the age of 19 he surrendered his life to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. He preached on the streets of his hometown and across the country, also filling the pulpits of Churches at the invitation of Pastors. He graduated West Lenoir School of Ministry in 1991 with a Bachelor of Divinity in Christian Education. He also married the love of his life, Traci Rhodes Waters, on June 8th 1991. They have been married for 25 years. He pastored the Green Valley Baptist Church for 3 years before becoming the Pastor here at Poovey’s Chapel in June 1996. In September 1999, Nicky and Traci were blessed with a son, Isaac. He also earned a Master’s Degree in Christian Education in 2000. He has led our Church to grow reaching our community and through missions around the world. He has worked with and continues to help with various ministries such as Tent Meetings, Crusades, etc. He has led mission trips to Peru and other mission projects here in the States. Pastor Nicky is involved in our community as a Chaplain and Chairman of the Board of Directors with the Hudson Fire Department. He and Traci were blessed with their next son, Adrik, in October, 2015. Pastor Nicky enjoys vacations with his family, fishing, riding 4 wheelers, running, farming and various outdoor hobbies. He is leading us to a closer relationship with Jesus and reaching out to those who do not know Jesus.
